Silk broadcloth resisted with instant mashed potatoes (technique from article Quilting Arts magazine/Lisa Kerpoe ), discharged, silk-screened with fabric reactive dyes and acid dyes. I call it "A Cup of Tea" because I found a fabulous lavender tea the other day.
From that I made this silk/kimono blouse
Wonderful as are the other items you've made and blogged about :)
ReplyDeleteBeautiful!!! Wow, how fun to wear such beautiful art.

It's beautiful! I love the color and the variation in the texture. I'm glad the article inspired you. Next time you may want to add some grits to the mix. I was playing with grits and mashed potatoes last week and the results were intriguing!
ReplyDeleteAwesome!

LOVE this blouse pattern as well as your fabric. Do you recall the pattern make and number? I'm sure it's disconinued by now, but I would love to get my hands on one!
ReplyDeleteHi Dianne,
DeleteUnfortunately there is no pattern for this blouse. I made it up modifying an old pattern which is discontinued and can't even remember the brand. Since then...I have been looking for a similar pattern everywhere I go. If I find it I would let you know:)
