This is my first attempt to try calligraphy using a dip and parallel pens with assorted colors of ink on fabric.
Since Valentine's Day is coming, I printed words that represent what that day means to me.
Then I pasted newspaper and magazine clippings on top, which I later painted with watercolors.
To finish it off, I sewed the piece by both machine and hand, and embellished with beads.
What a wonderful idea to do the typographic dots! They remind of antique typewriting machines. Although sewed on top of the fabric, they look like tiny windows. Simply great!
ReplyDeleteI love this piece. The dove family are just adorable.
ReplyDeleteThat is a beautiful piece. I love the beading! It is very delicate. Your colors are very pleasing and I enjoy the different fabrics in the binding. How large is this piece?
