Art-Cloth with *Recycled Newspaper*

Above are *details* from my latest work. An Art-Cloth study with *Paper*.

This is an Art-Cloth which has been painted, resisted, dyed and Infused with recycled newspapers, a technique I developed and called INC (Infused Newsprint Cloth).

The challenge for me was to obtain a soft, washable, pliable and easy to sew fabric. This is not an easy task, especially after the addition of several layers of dyes and paints plus the application of paper.
I am pleased with the results! This is a 32 inches by 32 inches piece of cotton. Now that I know it works I am already planning my next project.

    1. LuAnn,
The fabric has been colored with thickened dyes and paints with a silkscreen. Many layers has been applied, also with paper, letting them dry in between to keep the colors separate.
It is a *fine* line on how much to add to keep the cloth as pliable and soft as possible.
I love what you share in your blog, especially the *Permission to Play* sessions :)
