Coloring Cloth with Food Coloring +Glue Gel Resist / Quilting Arts Magazine June-July 2014

*My Dodo Bird*
Would you like to learn how to paint the polka dots fabric I used on this quilt? You can read all about it in my latest article on Quilting Arts magazine June/July 2014.
It is easy, fun and the best part is that you can do it over your kitchen counter! Hint: look in your kitchen cabinet if you have food coloring (must be the liquid kind, not the paste)
*Donation Quilt for the local Children's Hospital*

All the fabrics I used to make this quilt were made with the article technique (except the monkey and salamander which were some of the hospital pets that were required to be included).

  2. Absolutely wonderful ideas and I have often wondered about deliberately dyeing with food coloring since I have accidentally colored cloth that I was wearing in the past! Love that you have been having magazine articles now as I have loved everything you have posted on your blog for so very long!!
