I painted the background with dyes and the fish with transparent fabric paintsAfter I soaked the fabric with soda ash, I applied water-soluble resist paste with the help of a thermofax screen. I made the screen and imprinted words on it that relate to "fish" and put the same fish design from the front but in a different size. Then, after washing the fabric, I used the same screens but this time with fabric paints.

How to do ATC jackets

Since I'm involved in various ATC swaps this year, I decided to make some small jackets to enclose the ATCs. This is what I did:

I painted "medium interfacing," not the iron-on kind, with acrylics. When dried, I decorated them with the help of thermofax screens and stencils . Then I cut 3 1/2 x 8 inch strips and folded them in the middle.

I sewed them in each side and in the back transferred, with iron-on transfer paper, my name and blog address. These are two more ATCs:

birthday card

Tomorrow we are celebrating three of my friends birthdays , two of them were born exactly the same day! We will go to the usual Chinese place, where we go every year for this occasion. This is one of the cards I made using newspaper and gesso for the background; then I transfered Happy Birthday words written in different languages from a transparency and the help of "matte medium gel" then I painted with watercolors the butterfly and stenciled the bamboo plant with oil sticks.
